Raw Materials Cost Calculator / Conversions: tonnes ↔ DMT ↔ MWh ↔ GJ — with Calorific Value

Select a product and enter the price and batch parameters, including moisture and calorific value. The calculator will convert the cost into different commercial and energy units: PLN/t — AR, PLN/DMT, PLN/MWh, PLN/GJ, PLN/MJ and PLN/kJ. The results are indicative — the final settlement depends on the testing methodology and contractual terms.

Convert fuel cost between mass and energy units, taking moisture content and calorific value (LHV/NCV) into account.

Default product parameters can be defined in the configuration.
Select the unit in which you have the market/contract price.
Enter the value corresponding to the selected basis.
DMT = t(AR) × (1 − M). Example: M=10% → 1 t AR = 0.90 DMT.
Most often settled as MJ/kg as received (AR), or according to the contract methodology.
Optional — calculates the estimated cost for a batch.
Cost (PLN/t AR)
Metric tonne (t) as received (AR)
Cost (PLN/DMT)
Dry Metric Tonne (dry mass)
Cost (PLN/MWh)
Energy: 1 MWh = 3.6 GJ
Unit Value / conversion factor Cost

Assumptions: MT = 1 metric tonne (1000 kg). GJ and MWh are calculated from the LHV (MJ/kg) provided by the user. If your contracts settle LHV on a dry basis or according to another methodology, such as ISO/EN, the logic can be adjusted in the configuration.
